The feasibility of large-scale ammonia cracking to support the development of a global clean hydrogen market is set to be researched.
Ammonia power solutions provider, Amogy and commodity trading group, Trafigura has revealed they will jointly study the use of ammonia as a carrier to transport clean hydrogen from point of production to point of consumption.
H2 View understands, the two companies seek to indentify and assess scenarios in which ammonia cracking technology can be deployed to support the growing hydrogen market, starting with Europe, which is targeting 20 million tonnes of hydrogen consumption by 2030.
