ExxonMobil has announced the next step in its ambitious 10 million tonne per year blue hydrogen production plans for Texas, US, awarding a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract to Technip Energies.
According to the oil and gas major, the project planned for its Baytown plant, originally announced in 2022, will be the ‘largest’ low-carbon hydrogen project in the world, with start-up expected in 2027-2028.
