Hydrogen is the future of racing for Extreme-E, with the international off-road racing series today (Feb 18) confirming plans to launch a new global hydrogen championship in 2024.
Titled Extreme H, the new series will race alongside Extreme-E, racing at the same locations on the same days, but with an all-important hydrogen fuel cell replacing the battery.
Planning for Extreme H is already well underway, with organisers hoping to have a prototype vehicle launched early next year (2023).
