Extreme E has unveiled its first-ever hydrogen fuel cell-powered racing car ahead of its Extreme H debut season next year (2025).
Pioneer 25 boasts a 2kg hydrogen tank capacity at 700 bar and a 75kW fuel cell provided by Symbio that powers a Fortescue ZERO battery pack. The vehicle’s peak 400kW output can reach 0-100kph in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 205kph.
Designed and manufactured by Spark Racing Technology, the vehicle is expected to undergo its first public test at Extreme E’s Hydro X Prix in Scotland next month (July 13-14). After this, it will participate in an intensive test at the Island X Prix in Sardinia.
