Innovative subsurface storage company, dCarbonX, has revealed today (June 14) that it is advancing development of large and secure underground hydrogen storage in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The hydrogen will be used to cut Belfast’s future natural gas requirements, decarbonising the city region, and promote further wind and solar renewable projects.
The ambitious decarbonisation plan is expected to use 70MW of electrolysers to create hydrogen with the storage solution being developed to offer a pioneering and safe subsurface storage site.
