In April, Ohmium International announced plans to supply electrolysers to the Huelva project, a Spanish liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal to cut emissions and secured $250m in a fundraising round.
The US-based electrolyser manufacturer said it will supply its proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology to Efficiency for LNG Applications (E4Efficiency) for its mission to decarbonise its Huelva terminal.
The project is expected to see up to 52 tonnes of green hydrogen annually replace methane used in a gas flare pilot flame and hopes to mitigate up to 343 tonnes of annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. It has received backing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Spain’s Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE).
