EWE commissions Drees & Sommer to manage 320MW hydrogen plant

EWE has chosen consulting company Drees & Sommer SE to manage its large-scale green hydrogen project in Germany which is expected to produce 26,000 tonnes of the fuel per year.

The 320MW plant, located in Emden, is anticipated to be one of Europe’s largest hydrogen production plants and serve various industrial applications in the region. The plant is scheduled to be built in 2027.

Stuttgart-based Drees & Sommer has been commissioned to handle project steering, approval procedures and engineering management. The company also supervised the tendering and award of the electrolyser contract for Siemens Energy.
