Everfuel will plan, install and operate an optimised, scalable hydrogen fuelling solution for a brand-new zero emission ship which is expected to consume approximately 1,000kg of hydrogen per day.
The Denmark-based company today (8th April) said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with an undisclosed German-Norwegian shipping company for the fuel supply.
“Today, ships are mainly propelled by maritime diesel engines, which are highly pollutant. A single large container ship or a passenger cruiser can emit as much sulphur emissions to the air as 50 million cars in a year,” explained Jacob Krogsgaard, CEO of Everfuel.
“Switching to zero emission solutions will make a significant difference. We look forward to this cooperation on pioneering green shipping fuelled by hydrogen from Everfuel.”
