EverFuel and Shell Denmark have entered into a strategic agreement to develop a large-scale hydrogen plant, in order supply the transportation sector with hydrogen fuel.
Through the partnership, the two companies will install a P2X plant in Fredericia, Denmark, which will be the largest of its kind in the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden).
At full expansion, the hydrogen plant will have a capacity equivalent to the refinery being able to be converted to renewable energy, as well as supplying 3000-4000 fuel cell buses and trucks with hydrogen daily.
For the first phase of the project, expected to take place between 2022-2023, Everfuel intends to build a 20MW electrolysis plant and a central hydrogen storage facility that will be able to provide the necessary buffer that a fluctuating renewable energy production requires.
