Whilst he might be new in his role at Nel Hydrogen, Thorsten Herbert is not a new face to the European hydrogen community. Previously divisional head of transport and infrastructure at the National Organisation Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NOW) in Germany, Herbert has been advancing the market preparation of hydrogen and fuel cell technology since 2001!
In May, he joined Nel as the Director for Market Development and Public Affairs – a role which will see him represent the company in relevant European associations, organisations and forums, as well as identify and influence funding opportunities and regulatory processes supporting Nel’s ambitions and strategic positioning.
With a wealth of knowledge spanning more than 18 years in the sector, it seemed only right that Herbert is our second interviewee for H2 View’s series celebrating the first ever European Hydrogen Week. Here, Herbert shares some of the biggest changes he’s observed in the European hydrogen market, as well as tells us more about what Nel’s up to.
