European Hydrogen Week: An interview with Hydrogen Europe’s Valérie Bouillon-Delporte

Valérie Bouillon-Delporte’s personal commitment to green technology began in the 1990s when she was working for the metal industry. It was there she observed that everything in that industry is recycled, nothing is wasted.

This philosophy transformed the way she viewed the place of industries in our world – especially since Bouillon-Delporte has always worked in industries that have a strong impact on the environment. Impassioned by building, creating and striking off into new territory, Bouillon-Delporte thought this expertise and enthusiasm would prove useful in the automotive industry, with the ambition to help transform this industry.

Since joining the automotive industry in the mid 1990s, Bouillon-Delporte, Hydrogen Ecosystem Director at Michelin, has kept two priorities in mind: improving the accessibility of individual transportation and finding alternative means of fuelling these new vehicles.

“Because of Michelin’s unique expertise in materials, its vision of the need for more sustainable mobility and its determination to help build the car of the future, hydrogen power has been a part of the company for over 15 years,” Bouillon-Delporte told H2 View. “Michelin is convinced that hydrogen mobility will be one of the essential components of clean mobility, complementary to electric batteries.”
