Erdemir to trial hydrogen injection at Turkish blast furnace

Turkish steel company Erdemir will conduct a two-day hydrogen injection trial at its first blast furnace in collaboration with Linde.

Expected to be a first for the Turkish steel sector, the trial will take place this month (October) and make Erdemir one of “three steel producers in Europe to implement such a process.”

Erdemir will be supported by Linde and Erdemir Engineering on the project, with the latter providing its expertise in the steel sector through the custom-designed injection system. H2 View understands that Linde will provide the hydrogen.
