Equinor granted planning for 600MW UK blue hydrogen plant

Equinor has been granted planning permission for its 600MW blue hydrogen production plant in the Humber, UK.

The Norwegian oil and gas giant was granted permission by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, in a move that is hoped to kick-start the industrial region’s decarbonisation.

H2H Saltend will boast 600MW of hydrogen production capacity. Carbon dioxide (CO2) produced by the process will then be captured and utilise the East Coast Cluster’s infrastructure for its permanent storage in the North Sea.
