A consortium led by ENGIE and POSCO will develop a green hydrogen and green ammonia project to serve Oman.
The consortium was awarded a land block by Hydrom, and it will deliver a green ammonia project with the capacity of producing 1.2 million tonnes per year.
The project will include up to approximately 5GW of new wind and solar capacity, battery energy storage system (BESS) and a renewable hydrogen plant with a capacity of up to 200ktpa. The hydrogen produced will be transported via pipeline set to be built, connected to the port of Duqm to feed the ammonia production plant.
