The Energy Observer has dropped its anchor in Namibia on its round-the-world hydrogen-powered tour, discovering different countries and its energy challenges.
Before travelling to South America, the vessel has stopped in Namibia at the Walvis Bay Yacht Club, a country which aims to become one of the world’s largest exporters of green hydrogen by 2030.
Namibia boasts one of the world’s highest photovoltaic potentials, with an average of 300 days of sunshine a year and between 11-14 hours of daytime. Its cool temperatures are also a main factor in the efficiency of the photovoltaic panels.
