A consortium led by Cadent will explore underground, geological hydrogen storage potential in the UK’s East Midlands.
EMstor will receive funding of an undisclosed amount from OFGEM/Innovate UK’s Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) and will allow the consortium to meet the region’s forecasted demand for 10TWh of hydrogen.
The study will initiate a mapping process to identify long-term geological hydrogen storage to help meet peak power demands for customers connected to Cadent’s planned 100% hydrogen pipeline.
