Symbio’s new fuel cell gigafactory near Lyon, France is set to receive a PEM electrolyser from Elogen, with an initial capacity of 2.5MW to test its fuel cell systems.
The companies revealed today (July 21) that the electrolyser will be used to produce part of the hydrogen volumes required by Symbio to test and activate its fuel cell systems at the end of the manufacturing process.
Set to be delivered to the Saint-Fons site during the fourth quarter of 2023, the Elogen electrolyser is set to be modular in design, allowing Symbio to produce up to one tonne of low carbon hydrogen each day, according to the companies.
