Electrolyser-ready water solution ProtiumSource launched by Gradiant

Gradiant has unveiled ProtiumSource, which is reported to be the “world’s first” electrolyser-ready water solution that works with any water source.

The water treatment solution was developed through a collaboration of ProtiumSource and H+E Group, combining the latter’s ultrapure water expertise with Gradiant’s technology.

The solution is expected to be feedwater-agnostic, capable of using seawater, brackish water and treated wastewater making it adaptable to environments with limited access to high-quality input water.

Gradiant’s system also boasts zero liquid discharge (ZLD) and “industry-leading efficiency” whilst also offering the lowest total life cycle costs, according to the Boston-based firm.

H2 View understands the system operates in three phases: water purification, electrolyser-ready water production and integrated brine management for ZLD, tailored to meet the throughput needs of hydrogen production plants. ProtiumSource has been tested and is now commercially ready.
