German-headquartered EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies has secured a contract from a European car manufacturer for fuel cell stacks to be fitted to a future series production vehicle.
Under the agreement with the unnamed OEM, EKPO will develop a custom-made stack for a future “mass-produced” vehicle set to be powered by hydrogen. Additionally, the contract covers the supply of prototypes, with an initial volume in the single-digit million euro range.
H2 View understands the customer is set to receive tailor-made stacks for use in the vehicle, manufactured at EKPO’s facilities in Dettingen/Erms, Germany, which can produce up to 10,000 stacks per year.
