Egypt has approved its national strategy for green hydrogen as the North African nation aims to reach 5-8% of the global hydrogen market.
Approved on Wednesday (November 22) during a meeting of the National Council for Green Hydrogen, chaired by Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the strategy sees opportunities of creating 100,000 jobs and increasing GDP by $10-18bn by 2040.
Randa El Menshawy, First Assistant to the Prime Minister and Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Council for Green Hydrogen, told the meeting that land has already been provided to various developers for pilot projects.
