Lhyfe has signed a 15-year renewable electricity supply contract with EDP Renewables (EDPR) to support its hydrogen generation projects.
Under the Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA), Lhyfe will buy renewable energy generated by a 39MWac (55MWp) solar project in Germany, expected to be connected to the grid during 2025. EDPR will develop the project through Kronos Solar EDPR.
The CPPA will allow Lhyfe to further reinforce its European network of electricity supplier partners, after the signing of two other CPPAs in 2023. In Baden-Württemberg and in Lower Saxony, Lhyfe is building two production units representing a total capacity of eight tonnes of green hydrogen per day.
Through Kronos Solar, EDPR has a pipeline of over 8GWp in different stages of development in solar utility scale, including agri-PV projects. The company is focused on solar technology; however, it is ambitious to develop wind projects by 2030.
