€250m Irish whiskey distillery planned to be powered by green hydrogen

Irish whiskey is set to get a hydrogen clean up, as Irish Distillers reveal plans to build €250m ($248.2m) distillery which is expected to be powered by renewable energy, including green hydrogen and biogas.

Producer of some of the most renowned Irish whiskies, including Jameson, Powers, Redbreast, Midleton Very Rae, the Spot family, and Method and Madness, the announcement comes as the Irish Distillers seek to meet product demand and clean up its operations.

H2 View understands Irish Distillers has partnered with experts from Irish green hydrogen firm, EI-H2, to explore opportunities to source green hydrogen.
