Last Friday (July 28), the European Commissions approved a €246m ($271m) Dutch scheme to support the production of renewable hydrogen.
The Dutch measure is aimed to support the construction of at least 60MW of electrolysis capacity, with the aid planned to be awarded through a competitive bidding process, expected to be concluded this year (2023).
Open to all companies established in the European Economic Area (EEA), and operating, or planning to build and operate, a hydrogen production unit in the Netherlands, the aid will come in the form of a direct grant for a seven to 15-year period.
