Six hydrogen mobility projects in Germany have been boosted by a share of €23.5m ($26.2m) of funding from the BMVI (Federal Ministry and Digital Infrastructure).
Hydrogen mobility is urgently needed to achieve the climate protection goals, the BMVI says, and projects set to benefit from the funding include hydrogen-powered forklift trucks, buses, road sweepers and street scooters.
The funding is part of the National Innovation Program Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP), with which the Federal Government has been investing in research and development since 2006.
The programme is intended to support the first products required for market activation in various fields of application.
