Sines, Portugal, will seen an investment of €1bn ($1.08bn) in order to develop a 500MW green hydrogen and ammonia production project aiming to support the transition to renewable energies.
Being developed by Madoqua Renewables, Power2X, and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ Energy Transition Fund, the industrial-scale project will help produce 50,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year.
This will be achieved through the use of electrolysers coupled with renewable energy.
