Dutch EPC firm Ballast Nedam has brought on carbon capture and hydrogen engineering consultancy Ekinetix as a new business unit.
Set to become a private limited company within Ballast Nedam, Ekinetix will retain its name and identity, while widening the company’s reach into clean energy.
Having already worked together on projects, the EPC firm hopes the deal will allow it to better develop sustainable solutions in energy, water, urban development, mobility and industrial sectors.
Ekinetix has been involved in various hydrogen refuelling, electrolyser, transport and training projects across Europe.
By bringing the company into the fold, Kemal Sağlam, CEO of Bellast Nedam, believes it will strengthen its position as a “specialised construction partner.”
“Ekinetix brings specialised knowledge and an attractive project pipeline,” Sağlam added.
Jaco Reijerkerk, Director of Ekinetix, said, “With Ballast Nedam we combine broad expertise in project realisation with specialist know-how. This allows us to serve our clients both domestically and internationally, now and in the future.
“This collaboration is a significant step in realising the energy transition, particularly in hydrogen and CO2 capture.”
