WSP USA says it has completed drilling tests for two new cavern wells that will store hydrogen as part of an energy storage project in Utah, US.
The Advanced Clean Energy Storage (ACES) I project, coming as the first phase of the ACES Delta hydrogen hub, plans to convert curtailed renewable energy into green hydrogen that will be stored in solution mines domal salt caverns.
WSP was contracted for the design, drilling and completion of both cavern wells, for which it says it has completed the drilling operation and mechanical integrity tests.
