DNV has revealed it will support National Gas Transmission (NGT) in its FutureGrid project aiming to establish a hydrogen pipeline research facility.
Announced on December 14 2023, DNV will support NGT in developing a hydrogen de-blending, purification, and re-fuelling facility at the site. DNV will also be responsible for designing, installing, and operating the infrastructure.
FutureGrid Phase 1 was commissioned in September 2023 and achieved a landmark of operating with 2% hydrogen blended with natural gas, with the work continuing on the aim of blending 100% hydrogen by the end of January 2024.
