Independent energy expert DNV is set to lead a safety study that will identify the main environmental, safety and operational risks for the world’s first offshore hydrogen production facilities, DNV has said.
The project, headed by Lhyfe and Centrale Nantes off the coast of Le Croisic, France, will see the implementation of an offshore electrolyser to generate green hydrogen powered by a floating wind turbine with a start-up date in 2022.
DNV experts will undertake workshops and technical sessions to identify and analyse the main risks associated with the project.
