The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has launched its Draft 2024 Connecticut Clean Hydrogen Roadmap, which includes plans to support production and infrastructure developments.
As laid out in the draft roadmap, DEEP want to “Articulate Connecticut’s aspirations for clean hydrogen’s integration into its energy landscape, outlining its potential contributions to decarbonisation, economic growth and environmental justice.”
The use of hydrogen produced from renewables is expected to be advanced in the US state via the roadmap. Strategic development of clean hydrogen production, infrastructure and end use will be ensured by identifying the target technologies and associated volumes over time to “scale Connecticut’s hydrogen economy.”
DEEP wants to identify the benefits and risks associated with hydrogen, whilst also providing recommended policies, programmes and pilot projects to support hydrogen development in line with state goals.
