Cranfield Aerospace Solutions (CAeS) has unveiled its newly refurished hangar and R&D facility suitable for the development of zero-emission aircraft, such as hydrogen-electric systems.
Located on its Cranfield University campus, the facility has undergone major changes as part of the university’s decarbonisation plans, with a focus on reducing the building’s carbon footprint.
The more environmentally friendly hangar will modify CAeS’ Britten-Norman Islander, due to be converted to a hydrogen-electric propulsion system for entry into service in 2026.
