Aker Horizons has unveiled a new project at COP26 today (Nov 4) that aims to harness 10GW of renewable offshore wind energy from the North Sea to be converted into green hydrogen.
Northern Horizons Project, consisting of Aker Horizons’ portfolio companies Aker Offshore Wind and Aker Clean Hydrogen as well as DNV, will utilise 10GW of floating offshore wind turbines to produce green hydrogen for onwards transmission to a net zero hydrogen refinery on Shetland.
