Wärtsilä Finland, Vaasan Sähkö, EPV Energia and the City of Vaasa have joined forces on a project that will utilise emissions-free hydrogen in power generation, industry and traffic applications.
To be based in Vaasa, Finland, the project will focus on enabling a new way to store renewable energy, and pilot a hydrogen-based energy generation solution suitable for export markets.
Announcing the collaboration today (15th Jan), the companies said they will jointly build a Power-to-X-to-Power system in the city.
The stored hydrogen will then be utilised in both energy production and traffic application.
