Campagnie Maritime Belge (CMB) and Tsuneishi Craft and Facilities (Tsuneishi) have formed a new joint venture to accelerate hydrogen adoption in the Japanese maritime industry.
Under the name JPN H2YDRO, the joint venture will see the development of a hydrogen internal combustion engine and a new hydrogen tugboat, HydroPhoenix.
Both groups are developing the HydroPhoenix project with hopes to increase local demand for hydrogen applications and catalyse future construction of further sister ships and other industrial hydrogen applications.
