Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has agreed to develop green hydrogen projects in the US, collaborating with Tenaska.
Through the Energy Transition Fund I (CI ETF I) – the ‘largest’ dedicated clean hydrogen fund globally – the two companies will develop greenfield gigawatt-scale green hydrogen projects to serve local and global demand.
The agreement will support the US Department of Energy’s National Clean Hydrogen Strategy and Roadmap of reaching a production of 10 million metric tonnes of the fuel by 2030, 20 million metric tonnes by 2040, and 50 million metric tonnes annually by 2050.
