A hydrogen blend is now powering Chesapeake Utilities’ Eight Flags Energy combined heat and power plant in Nassau County, Florida.
The company on Tuesday (Feb 22) announced the success of its hydrogen test programme in a move which allowed the company to assess the feasibility of operating its sites with hydrogen and natural gas blend as a way to cut emissions.
As a result of its success, Chesapeake is now assessing the use of the hydrogen blend for the operation of other associated combined heat and power equipment.
