The Chemours Company has today (October 27) revealed it is set to entered into a joint venture (JV) with BWT FUMATECH Mobility to combine fuel cell membrane expertise, as the role of heavy-duty hydrogen-powered transport continues to grow.
Dubbed, the Mobility FC Membranes Company, Chemours and BWT have said the JV will cooperate with BWT’s subsidiary FUMATECH, its existing production technology, and line operations to convert Chemours’ Nafion™ ion exchange materials into end-product membranes.
Within 12 months of start-up, the partners hope the joint venture will be able to ramp up the capacity of manufacturing heavy-duty humidifier and fuel cell membranes for strategic long-term customers in the transportation sector.
