Clean Hydrogen Partnership-backed CertifHy™ has submitted a voluntary scheme to the European Commission for the certification of hydrogen and renewable fuels to support the decarbonisation of the transport sector.
The RFNBO (renewable fuels of non-biological origin) EU Voluntary Scheme is aimed at allowing producers to prove that hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives have been produced in compliance with EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED) II and RED II delegated act criteria.
Upon approval by the European Commission, CertifHy says subsequent certificates and proof of sustainability documents can be used to prove compliance with the European Commission targets.
