Cepsa has selected Siemens Energy’s PEM electrolysis technology to make up the first 25% of its green hydrogen project in Huelva, southern Spain.
Siemens Energy will supply 100MW of electrolyser technology for the 400MW project, to complement the use of alkaline water technology earmarked for the remaining 300MW of the initiative.
Located at Cepsa’s La Rábida Energy Park in Huelva, the project is part of Cepsa’s Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley. Earlier today, the company selected thyssenkrupp nucera as its preferred supplier for the 2GW valley project and will now expect to receive 15 20MW (300MW) alkaline electrolyser modules.
