Cepsa could curb €3bn green hydrogen plans as Spain eyes permanent windfall tax

Spanish oil and gas firm Cepsa has said it could slow its €3bn ($3.2bn) green hydrogen investments planned in its home nation if temporary windfall taxes on energy companies become permanent.

With plans to develop a 2GW green hydrogen hub in the Andalusia region of Spain, Cepsa had earmarked €3bn to step up three hydrogen production centres at its Huelva and Cádiz energy parks to produce up to 300,000 tonnes per year.
