The first 100kg vehicle-mounted liquid hydrogen system has been developed in China, according to local reports.
H2 View understands that the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) has produced the system and claimed it will mark a “new breakthrough in the country’s transportation sector.”
Compared with its predecessor, the new system boasts a 20% increase in effective volume with identical dimensions, whilst reducing costs by more than 30%.
With a capacity of up to 100kg of hydrogen, the system will power heavy-duty trucks to achieve a range of over 1,000km. Local reports from the Xinhua News Agency stated the system meets “international standards in terms of system quality, hydrogen storage density and refuelling time.”
