Ballard Power Systems has received an order for 2.4MW of additional fuel cell engines from Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) for its hydrogen-powered locomotives.
The 12, 200kW fuel cell engines will be delivered by the end of the year (2023) and enter into service late 2024.
The solutions will support the development of CPKC’s additional hydrogen locomotives planned for regular switching and local freight service applications in Alberta, Canada.
