Canada loans CAD $128m for World Energy GH2’s green hydrogen export project

The Canadian Government and World Energy GH2 have signed a definitive agreement with a CAD $128m ($94m) loan to support the development of a large-scale green hydrogen export project in Newfoundland and Labrador.

World Energy GH2’s Project Nujio’qonik in Stephenville plans to produce around 210,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year which will be used to generate 1.2 million tonnes of green ammonia for export.

Under the first phase, the project is expected to produce approximately 400,000 tonnes of green ammonia which will be EU “RFNBO-compliant” to meet Europe’s criteria for green hydrogen.
