California Energy Commission (CEC) regulators on Tuesday released a revised Notice of Proposed Awards (NOPA) for hydrogen stations in the state that serve passenger vehicles.
In September, the CEC made its largest investment in hydrogen infrastructure since 2015, funding upwards of 110 new hydrogen stations in California.
The multi-year grant means the stations will be funded in batches over the next five years (2020-2025.
The revised NOPA recommends 114 stations for approval, with Shell awarded 51, FirstElement Fuel 49 and Iwatani 14.
