According to the Westwood analysis, blue hydrogen projects due to be online by 2030 will account for over 16GW of total announced hydrogen capacity in the UK and Norway, which it says is equivalent to approximately 90% of the hydrogen projects total in the same region, 13GW of which are in the UK alone.
H2 View understands that further analysis has shown that although there are four times the number of green hydrogen projects than blue, projected hydrogen capacity will largely be driven by blue, which Westwood believes will be a catalyst in the development of hydrogen and carbon capture and storage (CCS) clusters.
