Bloom Energy and Baker Hughes have joined forces to advance the energy transition through the deployment of integrated hydrogen solutions that will produce the clean fuel for targeted applications such as blending into natural gas pipelines and industrial uses.
Such effort was formalised on Wednesday (5th May), with the two companies unveiling plans to collaborate with potential customer engagements immediately, with the objective of launching pilot projects over the next two to three years and fully commercialising and scaling applications, products and solutions shortly thereafter.
The companies’ hydrogen solutions will explore opportunities to pair Bloom Energy’s solid oxide electrolyser cells (SOEC) that can produce 100% clean hydrogen with Baker Hughes’ compression technology for efficient production, compression, transport, and delivery of hydrogen. Waste heat utilisation for steam generation will also be assessed to further increase efficiency and cost effectiveness of hydrogen production.
