Belgian and Texan companies and ports have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore an “import-export” coalition for renewable and low-carbon molecules and a green shipping corridor.
Signed by the Center for Houston’s Future, Waterstofnet, Port Houston, Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Exmar and the Blue Sky Maritime Coalition, the agreement comes a first step in solidifying a partnership between Belgium and Texas.
With Houston being home to major energy producers, with large investments being made into low-carbon and renewable energy, such as hydrogen, the region has been slated as a key future energy exporter.
