The Ballymena hydrogen production facility has won a total funding of £37.9m ($46.9m) from the UK Government’s Net Zero Hydrogen Fund (NZHF).
The facility in Northern Ireland is the headquarters of sustainable bus manufacturer Wrightbus and is expected to initially produce enough clean energy to power 300 hydrogen-powered buses a day, with Ryze Hydrogen responsible for distributing hydrogen.
The NZHF was announced yesterday (March 30) and is set to back hydrogen production projects through its £240m ($296m) fund.
