Ballard’s 3GW hydrogen fuel cell factory in question amid stalling market adoption

Ballard Power Systems has warned that it could dial back on future hydrogen investments, casting a shadow of doubt over its planned 3GW fuel cell factory in Texas, US.

Despite securing up to $94m in US federal funding for the facility, Paul Dobson, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Ballard, told an investor call that the company currently does not have an order book in line with a factory of such scale.
