Ballard, Chart achieve major breakthrough by successfully testing a fuel cell powered by liquid hydrogen

A major breakthrough in the hydrogen fuel cell industry has been achieved with Chart Industries and Ballard Power Systems successfully testing a fuel cell powered by liquid hydrogen, the companies revealed today (Feb 1).

The breakthrough had been achieved with the test observing a Ballard FCmove™-HD fuel cell which had been paired with a Chart onboard hydrogen (HLH2) vehicle fuel system in a hydrogen test facility in Minnesota, US.
